Attorney & Counselor at Law
Matt Schrull is the founding attorney of Schrull Law Firm. His practice is built on a simple idea: that careful preparation and clear thinking are the foundation of effective representation. Whether the matter is a veterans benefits appeal, a complex estate plan, or a hard-fought civil dispute, Matt brings the same patient, detail-oriented approach to every client he serves.
Before founding Schrull Law Firm, Matt practiced at a Houston litigation firm, where he gained experience defending insurance carriers against fraudulent claims and representing plaintiffs in personal injury matters arising from automobile, workplace, and other accidents. That background gave him a working understanding of both sides of civil litigation — knowledge that informs how he prepares cases, advises clients, and approaches settlement.
Matt enjoys digging into the details of a case and finding the information that builds a winning legal strategy. His clients have come to know him as a careful researcher, a clear writer, and a steady advocate.
Matt represents clients across the firm's five practice areas:
Matt earned his Juris Doctor from South Texas College of Law Houston. He received his undergraduate degree from Houston Christian University.
Matt believes that good lawyering starts with listening. Before recommending a strategy, he takes the time to understand what a client actually needs — which is often different from what they initially ask for. He is candid with clients about the strengths and weaknesses of their position, what cases are worth, and what realistic outcomes look like.
He is also a firm believer that not every dispute belongs in court. Litigation is expensive, slow, and emotionally taxing, and Matt looks first for paths that resolve matters efficiently. When litigation is the right answer, he prepares thoroughly — because preparation, more than any other factor, determines what a case is worth at the negotiating table and what it produces at trial.
